A Dance to Remember
The idea for “A Dance to Remember” arose from the travels of memories through synapses, from dreams and thoughts that coexist every day in the mind of a human being. Hence, memories, dreams and thoughts have been chosen as the core themes of the pieces that have been performed at the event and that can be related to Alzheimer's disease.
The event was created in support of the Swiss Alzheimer Research Foundation - Stiftung SYNAPSIS and professional dancers from international companies were invited to perform.
The primary goal of the project was to increase awareness of Alzheimer's disease and to give an insight into the developments and results of the research for therapy carried out until today. We had the honor to welcome Margrit Leuthold as special guest, president of the Stiftung SYNAPSIS, which supports research across Switzerland for the cure of Alzheimer's disease.
A Lindy Hop crush-curse and a Swing Dance party followed the performance, giving our guests the possibility to learn some dance steps and interact with the dancers and the personnel from the Stiftung SYNAPSIS.
The exclusive event hosted 130 spectators and contributed to the donation of CHF 7’500 to the Stiftung SYNAPSIS.
